2026 is the year to give back to yourself, and there's no better place to start than with this entry in our ARTful Wellness series!

Everyone has worries sometimes—and sometimes it helps to have a special place to put them!

In this fun and relaxing parent-and-me workshop, young artists ages 5-8 will decorate their own worry box using colorful paints and simple mandala-inspired designs. As we paint, we'll explore patterns, colors, and creativity while learning that art can be a wonderful way to express our feelings and find moments of calm.

Participants will leave with a beautiful keepsake box where they can tuck away written or drawn worries, happy wishes, affirmations, or treasured little notes.

No art experience is needed—just imagination and a willingness to create!

Ages 5-8 (Must be accompanied by an adult!)

Sunday, August 9th

The art of storytelling is thousands of years old. Histories or morals, each story that has existed puts pictures in the mind. Visual artists become illustrators of the world through the storytelling of their own mental images instead of words.

In this class, students will listen to a story to inspire them to create an artwork of their own impressions of the story. Students will create a 3D collage inspired by a scene from the story.

Cartoon Character Development

$82 MEMBER PRICE: $6970

with Lydia Bratton

Calendar Aug 22, 2026 at 3 pm, runs for 2 weeks

Ages: 9 - 12

Great cartooning is more than just drawing—it’s about writing and world-building! In this expanded two-session workshop, students follow a professional creator’s protocol: first, designing a character’s "soul" and silhouette; second, developing a unique storyline; and finally, placing them into a detailed indoor or outdoor setting.

By focusing on the architecture of a character rather than rushing into full comics, participants will master dynamic posing andpersonality development to ensure their creations are ready for any adventure.

The workshop takes place in our Digital Arts Lab, offering students the best of both worlds. Whether they prefer drawing manually or want to explore our professional desktopworkstations and drawing tablets, they will have the tools and time needed to refine theirwork.

Students will walk away with a complete character "blueprint" including varied poses, a narrative foundation, and a background scene—the essential first steps for any aspiringcartoonist or storyteller.

Ages 9-12
