Come learn to paint using acrylic paints, with the fall landscape as your subject!

Students will paint two different paintings, and with each one you will learn how to mix colors. You will also get a better understanding of how to see values, colors and textures within the landscape.

Please note that aside from a canvas, no supplies will be provided. A list of suggested supplies can be found here. 

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE FIRST THREE CLASSES WILL TAKE PLACE AT THE CITY OF MANASSAS COMMUNITY CENTER.

Winter time is approaching, so why not prepare by painting a beautiful figure on a simple ornament?

Come paint a cardinal (Virginia's state AND official holiday bird!) perched on a holly branch, with a round wooden ornament as your canvas. Professional artist and instructor Emily Thomson will show you how to paint step by step to make your ornament your own! Whether for yourself or someone special in your life, express yourself through the paints and explore the feelings surrounding this magical time of year through art.

This free wellness class is brought to you in partnership with UVA Health.

Learn to Paint your beloved pet (dog, cat, rabbit, horse?) Students will bring in a few photos to choose to use as their reference to paint from. You will learn the basics of oils, learning to mix, drawing your pet, and blocking in shapes and values, adding color, textures and details.

Each week you will progress and build up the paint layers to make a complete painting.

All supplies will be provided via the supply fee!
