This class will support the improvement of fundamental drawing skills, while bringing students together for fun and creativity.  This session will focus on elements & principles of design as well as perspective. Come explore line, form, shading and texture using traditional art media.  Class may be taken multiple times through the year; lessons and subject matter will vary each session.  Media could include pencils, charcoal, colored pencils, pens, markers and pastels.  Supplies are provided via supply fee.

Perfect for curious creators of all skill levels, this dynamic two-hour class invites students to experiment with a variety of sculptural materials and techniques—such as clay, papier-mâché, wire, cardboard, and mixed media. Each class offers a new project designed to spark imagination, build foundational skills, and encourage creative problem-solving in three-dimensional space. Michele will walk the group through a magical holiday scene using multimedia on card paper. Ditch the shopping trip and leave with a set of handmade cards with envelopes to give out this holiday season.

Get festive with some hot cocoa and participate in an optional cookie exchange by bringing in 12 cookies to share. 

Students that register before 12/3 will get a free popcorn voucher for the Christmas Market December 5th and 6th!

The Art of Writing: Bone-Chilling Tales is a four-week horror themed writing course.  Halloween may be over, but that doesn’t mean the scares have stopped.

As the days get shorter and the nights get longer and colder, it’s time to gather around the fireplace and tell some frightening tales. In this course, we’ll explore why the most wonderful time of the year can also be the most terrifying, not just through writing but also discussing winter folklore and monsters.  

By the end of the course, you’ll have a collection of fresh writing, peer feedback, and practical tools to continue your writing journey beyond the class. 

Come ready to write, share, and grow.  

This class is open to writers of all levels and genres.

Welcome to the 3D Holiday Studio, where we will bring the magic of the season to life in three dimensions! In this festive class, kids will use their imaginations and get their hands-on with a variety of materials to create their own holiday-themed masterpieces.

From sculpting jolly snowmen to crafting whimsical ornaments and designing mini winter wonderland, this class is a perfect way to explore the world of 3D art.

Students will learn how to build, shape, and decorate their creations while having fun and spreading holiday cheer. It’s a joyful and creative way to make unique gifts and decorations that are certain to be treasured for years to come!

Mural Workshop: The Craft of Painting on Walls

Join us for a free one day seminar which will explore the history, relevance and techniques of painting Murals. Hosted by Caesar McGann, a professional artist based in Northern VA who has been painting on walls of all shapes and sizes for over 30 years. A student of the craft, Caesar’s artistic career is rooted in the culture of graffiti. Well known for his signature style and mastery of letters, this seminar will encompass various methods and approaches one may encounter while painting on walls.

Looking at mural painting through the lens of art history, there will be discussion of how different cultures have used this art form to enrich their own respective societies. From ancient Egypt, to the masters of the Renaissance, all the way up to modern day sign painters and street artists; mankind has been adorning the walls around them since the dawn of time.

This course will touch on the significant movements and developments of mural painting, as artists have strived to hone their skill sets, learning how to create the massive masterpieces that dot the landscapes of cities all over the world. No experience necessary, no materials needed.

If you have an interest in art history, or you are an aspiring muralist hoping to up their game, this will be a great way to spend the afternoon.
