Join us for a calming and reflective workshop where students transform existing text into personal poetry and visual art.

This class will encourage mindfulness, self-expression, and creative discovery as participants reveal new meaning from existing words and create a page that feels thoughtful and unique.

This free wellness class is brought to you in partnership with UVA Health.

Designed for upper-elementary and middle school artists ready to build a strong artistic foundation, this course focuses on integrating the fundamental Elements of Art (line, shape, form, texture, value, color, and space) and Principles of Design (balance, contrast, emphasis, pattern, and proportion) into every lesson.

Each Monday evening, students explore new concepts through guided skill-building exercises and studio practice. Every project begins with foundational pencil drawing skills before expanding into versatile mixed media techniques—utilizing heavy-weight multimedia, watercolor, and toned papers alongside graphite, charcoal, pen & ink, soft pastels, and gentle watercolor background washes. Students will learn to break down complex subjects, render dynamic textures, build strong compositions, and manipulate light sources with confidence.

This class is designed for children who are ready to take the spotlight!

Students will learn the fundamentals of acting such as storytelling, creative movement, vocalization, and confidence in front of a group. The goal of this class is for students to learn these skills in a way that is fun and enjoyable, while also creating a safe environment for students to feel like they can explore all areas of performance.

By the end of the session, students will not only gain confidence on stage, but also strengthen listening skills, collaboration, and their ability to think outside the box.

Perfect for performers of all levels, this class celebrates curiosity, collaboration, and the joy of pretending, all while helping little actors grow into their own unique theatrical selves.

Ages 6-8

In the scene study class, actors will take specific scenes from movies, television, or plays and apply exercises and techniques to create believable characters and performances.

Actors will work with the instructor to build on foundational skills and receive feedback to improve their craft.  The class will conclude with a mini presentation of scenes and/or monologues for friends and family on the last day of class. 

Ages 13-17

Tuesdays 5:30-7pm

Trees can be some of the most complex subjects to paint, especially in an unpredictable medium like watercolor!

In this course, students will earn how to draw and paint trees of all types and create wonderful landscapes.

Please note that paper will be provided via the supply fee, but no other supplies will be provided!! A list of suggested supplies can be found here.

Do you have a young one that loves the arts? Join us for this brand new painting class, where they can have fun, hone their skills, and start their journey towards becoming an artist!

Students will learn different techniques through a different project every class. You will also use different mediums, be it acrylic, watercolor, or more! Students will leave with wonderful compositions that they can cherish for years to come.

Ages 6-8

Do you have a pre-teen that loves art, but could use some guidance? In this brand new painting class, students will learn the fundamentals of both acrylic and watercolor painting in a fun and welcoming environment!

Students will learn a different technique in each class, and will create wonderful compositions that they can take home and cherish.

All supplies will be provided via the supply fee.
