Join Society of American Fight Directors certified stage combat instructor, Shelby Mejia*, for this Unarmed Combat course. Shelby will teach students how to stage fight scenes for the stage or screen using acting and choreographed techniques to tell a story. 

This class will cover the basic techniques needed to create a safe and effective fight choreography for the stage. Students learn the basics of all aspects of unarmed stage combat, falling, grappling, punches, kicks, etc. Particular attention will be paid to the safeties required to perform fights as well as how to connect stage combat techniques to text, character, and intention.

For actors of all levels, but catered to Beginners, this class will examine the basics of acting: intentions, opposites, relationships, and humor. Develop your acting tools through improvisation, character development, scene study, and creativity.  Learn to engage your character to make confident and strong choices in developing a scene through new skills.
