Learn how to create luminous, atmospheric landscapes.Inspired by her '4 the Love of Virginia' solo show, this special workshop pulls back the curtain on how Christine designs compositions, simplifies complex scenes, and uses light and color to create glowing, expressive landscapes.

You’ll learn the exact methods she uses in her own paintings—and create a piece in that same lyrical, light-filled style.

Join us for a beginner-friendly workshop designed to remove the mystery from oil painting. Learn how to mix paint, control consistency, apply color with intention, and care for your materials properly. From setting up your palette to cleaning your brushes, this workshop gives you the practical skills and confidence you need to paint whatever subject excites you.

Have you always wanted to try oils but felt intimidated by the “rules”? n this 5-hour immersive workshop, you’ll:

• Understand how oil paint actually works

Join us for a warm, beginner-friendly introduction to alla prima—the joyful “all at once” painting approach. We’ll begin with simple objects from life to learn color mixing, shape simplification, and confident brushwork. Then we’ll apply those same principles to clouds and trees in my signature landscape style, finishing with a small landscape study from a photo I provide.

Want to paint faster without sacrificing beauty? Feel stuck overworking your paintings? You’ll learn how to:

• Paint wet-into-wet with clarity

• Simplify scenes without losing atmosphere

• Mix clean sky and foliage colors

• Create depth using light and edges

• Complete a small landscape in just one afternoon

Do-It-Yourself Matting and Framing

This workshop will cover the basics of framing works on both paper and canvas, the tools and materials required, where to get them, and standards you will be expected to meet if you are thinking of entering your work in art shows.

Each participant will have the opportunity to cut a mat and go through the steps to a finished, framed work. Students will need to provide the following: an 8x10 frame (wood preferred) and a piece of art.

If the art is on paper, the image area should be either 4x6 or 5x7. If the art is on a canvas or board, it should be 8x10. All other supplies will be provided via the supply fee.
